Fareham Community Action provides support to Community Groups and promotes Volunteering

for the benefit of our whole community.

Fareham Stroke Club logo The Fareham Stroke Club was formed as a result of an inaugural meeting call by the Chest, Heart & Stroke Association.

Over the last few years the special needs of stroke sufferers have begun to be identified. These have been shown to be better satisfied at a club solely for stroke victims rather than at a club with disabled members suffering from many different handicaps and illnesses.

A Stroke Club is a social club providing a meeting place for the mutual benefit of stroke victims and their carers. Activities are both social and therapeutic. The Club is an important social outlet particularly as members can talk with others who have similar problems.

  • At the Fareham Club we give support to the carers and we give help to the sufferers.
  • We arrange a variety of speakers and entertainers as well as quiz and games afternoons.
  • In addition, club outings are arranged, for which we hire two Community Services mini buses with Wheelchair Facilities.
  • The club meets every Friday at 2:30pm to 4:00 pm at the Oak Road WI. Hut.
  • There is a close band between members as they give each other mutual support and encouragement.
  • The Club is completely self funded, having been started without any subsidy whatsoever.
  • We hire the Community Service Mini Bus to bring members to the meetings.

Volunteers to Drive members or to spend the afternoon with us will be very welcome

meet at:

The WI HUT

Oak Road, Fareham

2.30pm every Friday
