QA Hospital Shuttle Bus
Stopped from 30th July
After 3 months of operation the trial period of operation is complete. The service has attracted 200 members but the level of use has been only 10% of our expectations. This makes the unviable and so it is stopped from 30th July. For people who find difficulty getting to QA and need assistance there are the voluntary car schemes that are run by local charities.
We are sorry that we have to stop this service. We thank the registered members for their interest, we thank the collaborating organisations and we thank our enthusiastic staff for their serious efforts to make this work. The main funder of the trial service was NHS Hampshire.
We will be asking for feedback about the service and invite members, users and others give comment

Partner Organisations in the Shuttle Bus Service
NHS Hampshire, the primary care trust has a wish to improve the access to QA Hospital and so has agreed a grant towards the pilot service. Portsmouth Hospitals Trust have been keen to assist in the development and enabled a patient survey to better understand the potential demand from patients and their visitors. Other local authorities including Hampshire County Council and Gosport Borough Council have identified the need for the service and have been supportive of the development. Gosport Voluntary Action works closely with Community Action Fareham on transport matters so that we can all improve community services. Gosport Community Association is a keen supporter of community enterprises and has agreed to support the service with membership applications and other matters.
The shuttle bus service is operated by Community Action Fareham which is a registered charity no. 1056395 and a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales (company no. 3181037). Our purpose is to work with others to improve the quality of life of people in the area.
